Helen Joanne “Jo” Cox – Born 22-Jun-1974 murdered 16-Jun-2016

It is unfortunate that some have seen fit to conflate the cowardly murder of Jo Cox MP, by a mentally deranged member of the public (male, Caucasian and apparently indigenous), with politics – there is absolutely no evidence to support this at this time, we understand.

There are mentally disturbed individuals alligned with all parties and none – they are an omni present fact of life in any society, from whom it is almost impossible to protect members of the society be they soldiers, priests, police or even MPs!

To not stand in her seat at the bye election is politicising her murder, as clearly it would seem not to have been a political assassination, unlike the cowardly IRA killings of Airey Neave, Edgar Graham Sir Anthony Berry, Robert Bradford or Ian Gow since the end of WWII in 1945. The reason for an unopposed bye election in the case of assassination is clear but there is no case for the same in any other cause of death.

There is also no justification for either suspension of political campaigning nor for the stance of many in the media and the body politic to try to politicise this tragedy.

Jo Cox was a mother, a wife, a daughter and to many a friend – her work to date, whether one agrees with all her statements or not, her efforts were exemplary and first and fortemost we have all lost a bright star, particularly her family, her friends, those causes she espoused and Parliament where such stars are much needed on all benches.

Let us all hope that her memory is not demeaned by reducing her to being of great influence in the outcome of the EU-Referendum, as from reading of her, she would have been appauled at such an outcome and dishonest exploitation for personal political gain – whoever it was by.

She and her husband confronted the risks of public life wittingly and the great tragedy is that of her children and society at large, my thoughts are with all for their loss.

Fortunately in Britain murder is relatively uncommon and murder of our elected representatives exeedingly rare, the last having been in 1990 – long may that continue, out of respect for those who have been the tragic victims of those few occasions, whether directly or indirectly.

What a waste of a bright and vibrant life!

  There are many decent people involved in the campaign to Remain in the EU, many who respect the referendum as the exercise in democracy that it is.
  But there are others whose recklessness has been open and shocking; to name but a few: David Cameron, George Osborne, John Major, Neil Kinnock, Gordon Brown, Tony Blair, Mark Carney and many more.
  I believe they bear responsibility, not for the attack itself, but for the current mood: for the inflammatory language, for the finger-jabbing, the dogwhistling and the overt racism.

    There seems to be a desperate attempt by Remain & their media running dogs to politicise the tragic and cowardly murder of Jo Cox by a mentally disturbed criminal – It seems all too plausible that in deliberately conflating her death with politics they seek to gain an advantage in the EU Referendum which clearly they were (are?) in danger of losing in the face of public belief and values.
    In default of PROOF to the contrary IF Remain win I shall consider this an invalid vote corrupted by yet further dishonest efforts of Remain to influence with Fear, Uncertainty & Doubt and now even exploiting a tragic murder for their very personal gain.

    A comment from another site.I can’t vouch for the accuracy but sounds about right.

    “Airey Neave was murdered on the Parliamentary estate itself–a man with 20 years in politics and a was a notable war hero, Parliament showed its respect by suspending proceedings for 15 minutes. A speech was made the following day by one of his colleagues, but apart from that it was business as usual.

      The death of Diana seemed to be a milestone in mawkish public outpourings of grief. The other thing that struck me about that was the media having to come up with things to say about it when there really wasn’t anything extra to say, so they were interviewing people she’d been at school with and all sorts of people who didn’t have anything extra to say.

      In this case, there have been very few clear facts reported and a lot of waffle by way of speculation about far right groups, politicians opinions on the bigger picture and so on.

        I was just thinking that … as usual the media (and the political classes) have lost all sense of perspective on this. We are now seeing a grossly exaggerated display which has out of all proportion to the event – culminating in the recall of Parliament on Monday.

        Far from improving relations been MPs and public, this exaggerated concern for their own now threatens to drive a further wedge between them.
