Hi,

UKIP has a good article in The Sun today over the by-line of Nigel Farage.
It is such a pity that with some sound comment coming from UKIP and being published, at last – it is so damaged as a result of UKIP association with racism, anti judaism, anti homosexuality, extremism, bullying and the dishonest & corrupt use of a small army of low lifes and sock puppets willing to lie and defame from their cowardly stance.

Without responsible behaviour UKIP does more harm than good to the wish of the majority of the British peoples to Leave-The-EU – without some gravitas and a clear exit & survival strategy UKIP can talk and publish all it likes but it will continue to bump along the bottom of British politics with an average vote when it can find a candidate of around 5-7% which is inadequate to be of any real significance in the struggle for Independence.

The constant reports of defamatory lies, corruption, back stabbing & lack of vision & political nouse guarantees UKIP’s long term irrelevance.

That said here is their latest little flurry of activity:

We won’t get fooled again, PM

Poll call … Nigel Farage
Published: 16 minutes ago

THE public is running out of patience with David Cameron over his dawdling on Europe – and UK Independence Party chief Nigel Farage is backing The Sun’s call for a referendum.

A Sun on Sunday survey found 67 per cent want a vote on whether the UK stays in the European Union.
Here, UKIP leader Mr Farage explains why that referendum cannot come soon enough.

BACK in 1971, a couple of years before we joined the Common Market (as the EU was called then), The Who wrote that great song Won’t Get Fooled Again.

But in the past 40 years we’ve been fooled time and time again.

We were told our membership of Europe was about trade and opening up markets to British goods.

Instead we got political interference, endless rules and regulations, our fish stocks plundered, and foreign criminals claiming the “right to a family life” in Britain.
Sound like a free trade agreement to you? No, me neither.

EU flag and handcuffs

Locked in … UK vote on EU is vital, says Nigel Farage

Now David Cameron is trying to do it again. His “cast-iron guarantee” on an EU referendum, made in the pages of The Sun, soon rusted. His next con trick will be telling you he needs a chance to renegotiate with Europe and make a deal.

This newspaper is right to look at the possibility of recalibrating our relationship with Brussels but I am sceptical as to whether we would ever get the best deal for Britain.
Any agreement needs to get the go-ahead from all the other countries in the EU.

It would be like trying to have an amicable divorce with 26 ex-partners who all blame you for their problems — partners who cost you £50million a day, by the way.

They are not going to send us home with a box of Belgian chocolates and a bottle of French red.

At the very best, Mr Cameron will arrive back from Brussels, cheeks flushed with victory, telling us we’re just in the “single market” now and that means trade — nothing more, nothing less.

The single market cripples British businesses.

The single market is responsible for all those health and safety regulations and environmental directives that this newspaper has campaigned against for years.

More than that, if we remain a part of it, we still won’t be able to strike trade deals with the rest of the world. While China, Brazil, India and the rest of the Commonwealth flourish, we will be handcuffed to the EU, with their sky-high unemployment rates, doomed single currency and economies set to stagnate for the next ten to 20 years.

Every year, the EU sells us £52billion more in goods than we buy from them.

We have more of a taste for German cars than they do for Scotch whisky, and it is nonsense to suggest they‘d refuse to sell us another Merc if we left the EU.

Renegotiation is an option but not a solution.

EU have to fight now, PM

EU and cry … our report

The British people deserve a true choice in a straight in/out referendum.Mr Cameron does not want you to have that poll, in case you don’t give him the answer he wants — which is to stay in the EU. But only after a NO vote could we get that free-trade deal. You know, the one we thought we’d originally signed up to.

Sixty-two per cent of Sun readers do not trust the PM. This gives me hope.

Do me a favour, David, and have a listen to that song by The Who, on iTunes, and don’t get fooled again.

#G0611* – The Scots joined The Union because they were starving

<!–[if !mso]> st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) } <![endif]–>

Hi,
The Scots joined The Union because they were starving – that time was due to the failure of crops due to the eruption of Katla in Iceland.
This time it looks like it is likely that Scotland will be destroyed by its own self serving politicians manipulating a large under class of Scotland that believes and expects there is a future for Scotland living under direct rule and subsidy by the centralised and largely undemocratic EUropean Union which the more intelligent in Scotland will have realised is nothing more than a failed experiment – an arcane scam founded on greed and the self interest of a small clique of politicians and held together with a huge structure of bribes.
Whether directly ruled by The EU or in co-operation with the other members of these United Kingdoms who have supported and co-operated with Scotland on a partnership basis with the costs of Governance and defence shared and the peoples of Scotland assisted under The Barnet Formula to even out the difficulties in largely unproductive areas like Scotland and Wales.
A measure of the evil irresponsibility of the Lawyers, Bankers, Civil Servants & Politicians of Scotland is that they are willing to gamble and destroy the lives of Scots less fortunate than themselves, well aware that if it goes wrong for them as Politicians, Lawyers, Bankers etc. they can abandon Scotland as so many Scots have done in the past when work, food, income and the like dried up – You may well be aware that during The Napoleonic Wars the Island of Skye fielded 2,500 fully armed men – now if its entire popul;ation were to leave it could not make up such numbers.
The degree of Evil of the cartell of scheisters running Scotland are willing to put the gullible at risk in one of the most dangerous periods in history in economic terms. Do YOU really believe they have the moral right to risk the starvation their actions might bring for those less fortunate than them?
Consider:

When you have listened to the clear and consise video you can save the text and check every detail for your own peace of mind.
Perhaps if you are a Scot and believe the propaganda that should read piece of mind!
One is forced to ask by what moral right these self serving, greedy fools can risk these United Kingdoms and the destruction of the Union just for their personal gain?

Exclusive: A war of independence: PM squares up to Salmond

Cameron orders ministers to campaign aggressively north of the border against the break-up of the union as panic hits Westminster
By Brian Brady, Whitehall Editor
Sunday, 25 September 2011

First Minister Alex SalmondImage via Wikipedia
The Coalition’s ministers will target areas where Mr Salmond is seen to be vulnerable
David Cameron is to go head to head with Alex Salmond in a bitter battle over the future of the union between England and Scotland. The Government is to fight what it sees as “outrageous” claims and increasingly aggressive moves towards complete self-rule from the Scottish First Minister in a desperate attempt to stop Scotland from “sleepwalking into independence”.
The Prime Minister has ordered an aggressive government attack on the SNP in the hope of raising the alarm in England and Scotland about the prospect of Scotland voting to split from the United Kingdom. He believes the First Minister has had an easy ride and not faced enough questions on how an independent Scotland would stay afloat – and bankroll its huge pensions and benefits bill without raising taxes.
The more “muscular” approach, agreed by the coalition’s ruling “quad” of ministers, will target areas where Mr Salmond is seen to be vulnerable – notably on the economy and welfare.
The frantic switch follows widespread unrest among English MPs over the enhanced subsidies available to Scotland, which fund improved services including free personal care, university tuition and prescriptions, which are not available in England.
The gear change comes as Labour announces plans to beef up the position of its leader in Scotland, partly to face down the SNP resurgence.
One senior minister pledged yesterday that the Government would no longer be the “passive recipient” of proposals from the Scottish Executive, including the Budget presented by the SNP Finance Minister John Swinney last week.
Instead, coalition ministers including Mr Cameron and Nick Clegg will take on Mr Salmond in a series of visits and interviews in the coming months. Michael Moore, the Scotland Secretary, has already begun telling government departments to shape their pronouncements to spell out the advantages of the union to the Scottish public.
“We have all allowed Salmond to have it his own way for too long,” one minister said yesterday.
The change in strategy betrays a growing frustration at the heart of Government that Mr Salmond has been allowed to dictate the debate over Scotland‘s destiny. His enduring popularity has made a vote for independence – or further devolution christened “devo max” – a real possibility at a referendum promised within the next four years.
The “quad” – Mr Cameron, the Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, the Chancellor, George Osborne, and the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Danny Alexander – have rejected a more positive campaign in favour of an aggressive response targeting Mr Salmond himself.
After a series of meetings with Mr Moore, they have pulled in ministers from across the Government and told them to join the effort to counteract the SNP message.
Mr Moore warned last week that an independent Scotland would risk a Greece-style economic collapse. He added: “When the economy changes we have bigger bills to pay on unemployment. Scotland would have to think how on earth that was done.”
Ministers concede that UK parties had given Mr Salmond a free rein to present himself as the defender of Scotland‘s rights over several years, culminating in the SNP’s victory at the Scottish elections in June.
A senior Scottish Lib Dem minister confessed last week that the party had missed the chance to rein in the SNP by refusing to form a coalition government when the Nationalists emerged as the biggest party, but without a majority, following the 2007 Holyrood elections.
Instead, Mr Salmond used the result as a platform to establish his party as a credible government for four years, and then to win an outright majority at the elections held in May this year.
The strategy presents the Prime Minister with a difficult balancing act, however, as it requires him to defend a settlement which has provoked hostility on both sides of the border.
A group of young Tory MPs has now called on Mr Cameron to end Scotland‘s subsidy and give Holyrood greater tax-raising powers – effectively forcing the nation to pay its way within the union. The gap between public spending and taxes raised in Scotland stood at £14bn in 2009-10, and the country receives subsidies amounting to almost 20 per cent more per head than in England.
John Curtice, professor of politics at Strathclyde University, said the coalition parties had recognised the problem late, as the prospect of a referendum was remote. He added: “They are having difficulty putting forward their argument because no one can match up to Mr Salmond.”
Nicola McEwen of the Institute of Governance at the University of Edinburgh said the Government “has a legitimacy problem in Scotland, being made up of the third and fourth-placed parties”.
A spokesperson for Mr Salmond said yesterday: “Scotland‘s future will be decided by the people of Scotland – not by the Tory-Lib Dem ‘quad’ holding secret meetings in Downing Street.
“The people of Scotland have already spoken decisively this year, overwhelmingly backing the SNP government’s positive vision of progress for the nation, and a recent poll shows independence has moved ahead of support for the status quo.”

#G0421* – David CAMERON & BIG SOCIETY by Niall WARRY

Posted by Greg Lance - Watkins (Greg_L-W) on 22/02/2011

#G0421* – David CAMERON & BIG SOCIETY by Niall WARRY
Hi,
Here are my views on our Dave’s ‘BIG Society.’
We’ve had:-
Roosevelt’s ‘New Deal‘,
Lyndon Johnson’s ‘Great Society‘,
John Major’s ‘A Society at Ease with Itself’ and ‘Back to Basics’
Tony Blair’s ‘Big Debate’ and ‘Cool Britannia’.
So what’s new about this ‘Big Society’?
Well the Big Society is a poke in the eye for Margaret Thatcher for a start for her much misquoted saying about Society. The full quote is:-
‘There is no such thing as society there are individuals men and women, and there are families. And no government can do anything except through people, and people must look to themselves first. It’s our duty to look after ourselves and then to look after our neighbour.
‘Big Society’ is designed, like garbage recycling, to pass some of the duties of government, national and local, to the hard pressed public but beyond that it’ll go no further than all the others mentioned above.

It seems strange for a government that has handed over control of much of our national life to Brussels to now try and reverse this by passing the onus back to the public. Of course the fact that so many Councils are responsible, for political reasons, for cutting our services instead of other overheads hardly helps this idea.
Some of the intentions of the ‘BIG Society’ may be good however it has not been accompanied by a commensurate reduction in taxes, in fact just the contrary taxes are going up and those who have diligently saved for old age are having their savings stolen from them by the process of inflationary Quantitative Easing.
While Cameron is now banging on about his ‘BIG Society’ he appears to be completely impotent as to where our councils should make cuts and of course by refusing us our referendum on the Lisbon Treaty he has virtually handed over control of our foreign policy, judiciary Army and much more to The European Union in Brussels.
Rather than come up with a grandiose idea like his ‘BIG Society’ he should just concentrate on getting back power from Brussels and reducing the size of Government and our taxes.
It has been proved over and over again lower taxes brings in more revenue.
The only ‘BIG idea’ the self confessed Heir to Blair needs is to ‘ CUT GOVERNMENT AND TAXES’ and trust us to do the rest!

#G369* – £ BILLIONS of DEBT & CAMERON’S DILEMMA

Posted by Greg Lance - Watkins (Greg_L-W) on 19/10/2010

#G369* – £ BILLIONS of DEBT & CAMERON’S DILEMMA

British National Debt as a % of GDP 1700-1999....Image via Wikipedia

Hi,
Mr. Cameron plans to save some money this afternoon – just consider how much he thinks he will save relative to some other aspects of life LIKE FACTS!
Astonishingly the figures The Spectator shows the Debt in Britain based upon National debt:
Taken from public sector net debt figures (PSND) in Table B13 of Pre-Budget 2009. PSND rising from £618.8 billion on 5 April 2009 to £798.9 billion a year later. This is the most conservative of the available debt indices as it excludes liabilities for PFI deals, public sector pensions and bank bailouts.
Family share: Calculated by dividing the national debt figure by the number of households in the UK. Number of households taken as 25.7 million, as per the written answer to a Parliamentary question in March 2009.
I find this a quite scarey enough figure, but when New Labour and the economically illiterate Gordon Brown and the neo Communists of Common Purpose, Fabianism and the Communist Party itself, that was the mentor and partner of New Labour, were thrown out of office – to repackage and represent their largely Marxist ideals suitable to the clearly Marxist control mechanisms of the malevollent EU, a more real figure of debt was apparent!
Taking into consideration the actual debt and presenting that with the debt by forward commitment and such hidden debt as faux pensions for the parasitic and kleptocratic QUANGOcracy that burgeoned to support the clearly Marxist aspirations of Labour, together with the largest privatisation of industry and assets in history during the unlucky 13 years of their misrule and abuse of PFI – We find the real debt that lands upon the Nation’s doormat is more accurately portrayed as £3 Trillion.
In the last 2 weeks of Labour’s abuse of power their actions in linkage with the debt and easment of the EU and such profligate failed Nations as Greece, Portugal, Spain Italy & Eire amounted to a devaluation of 8% of our Nation’s total wealth!
Let us stick with figures a little more comprehendible (relatively!!) and let us stick with the PSNB of the clock above and realise that the £800+ Billion, as shown, means that if the Government could negotiate an interest free status for this debt and they commenced paying it off on 01-January-2011 at the rate of £820 per SECOND the debt would be settled by July 2042.
That would be a repayment of £1,152,000 per day – A huge number until you realise the Institute of Directors estimated some 10 years ago, and it has risen hugely since, that membership of the EU cost these United Kingdoms £1.8 Million per hour 24/7!
That is £15.8 Billion per annum yet Labour handed over £14 Bn. after they had been voted out of office to their Communist chums in the EU ostensibly to fund Greece’s profligate life style and outright lies but it did look like buying positions for their personal futures! Be minded that Tony Blair has amassed a fortune approaching £100 Million since he was dumped!
ONE Billion is in itself a VERY large number!
1Bn. seconds ago it was 1963
1Bn. Minutes ago The Christian era had not begun as Christ had not been born!
1Bn. Hours ago bi pedal mammals did not exist!
Politicians speak glibly of £Billions of OUR money but I have every doubt that they haven’t a clue what a Billion is!
Clearly in financial and moral terms there is absolutely no justification for Britain’s membership of the anti democratic EU!

#G266* – forcing ‘Cameron Cuties’ on the grassroots

Britain is in crisis.

If he wins, Dave will have more to worry about than forcing ‘Cameron Cuties’ on the grassroots

Margaret Thatcher shortly after her election victory in 1979 (Photo: PA)

Margaret Thatcher shortly after her election victory in 1979 (Photo: PA)

Whoever walks into No 10 after the election will face a desk overflowing with more and worse problems than any incoming Prime Minister since Winston Churchill in 1940. Certainly Margaret Thatcher faced a trades union movement led by insurrectionists who had already brought down Edward Heath and Jim Callaghan, and an economy in terrible trouble – but the troubles facing the country today are both wider and deeper than in 1979. That is not all: Margaret Thatcher had a far stronger Parliamentary Party and a far stronger Party in the country than David Cameron.
As for Gordon Brown, if he should survive the election, not only will he be facing the crises largely of his own making, but he will still have the same mutinous parliamentary rabble from which to form a government.
There is the terrifying financial crisis. January is normally a good month for tax revenues but this year they collapsed. For the first time ever there was a deficit, and not a small one either, of £4.3 billion.
The more the Government increases spending, borrowing and taxing, the wider grows the gap between the rich and the poor.
Argentina, seeing our military and political weakness, is increasing the pressure on the Falklands.
Someone – Mossad, they say – picked on us as too spineless to do more than squeak about it, and stole the identities of half a dozen British citizens in pursuit of a murder plot.
Immigration, like public spending, is still running out of control.
And, just to cap it all, it seems that our masters in Brussels are so confident of their mastery that they will not let us, the British, give any preference to ourselves in selling tickets to the Olympic Games that we are paying for here, in what used to be our own country.
In short, if he becomes Prime Minister, David Cameron will have more to worry about than whether he imposed enough Cameron Cuties on the demoralised remains of the Tory grass roots supporters.
Perhaps the most corrosively poisonous inheritance facing the next Government will be the crisis of trust between the British people and the new political class which seems destined to dominate Parliament.  That is examined in a short book by Stuart Wheeler, entitled Crisis of Trust, published next week.
Wheeler was once a generous supporter of the Conservative Party, but was expelled for also giving support to UKIP and has a record of putting his money where his mouth is. I would not agree with quite all of what he says about the remuneration of MPs, but his book is a “must read” item for anyone wanting to put that particular shambles into its historical context. As Wheeler sets out, this has happened before and been put right before. He also puts it into the context of the betrayal of the very purpose of Parliament, which is to control the executive, whether the Monarch, the Cabinet or today our masters in Brussels.
Do not miss it!
I look through all the posts on this site, even those not really directed to me, but it is not realistically possible to answer all of you, so please forgive me if I do not take up all the issues raised here. At least this is a lively blog site!
It was very kind of portuguesedave, coltek, softmicro and others to urge me to get out the old bike and ride back into battle at the head of either the Conservative Party or UKIP. Come on, be reasonable, chaps, I’ll be 79 next month and I was invalided out over 20 years ago. My mistake was not to have had myself cloned about 40 years ago. So, procrustes, I’m sorry I am not up for the fight the way I was 50 years ago.
This blog, and my roamings around the country, even a broadcast now and again (Any Questions on R4 this Friday) are all intended to help other people put the pressure on our leading politicians to LISTEN AND THINK (and not just about themselves).
I understand the eloquent despair of Sheumais, but I have to say to christopherjames that it is not just representative democracy that has let us down, and that only in the last half century. It is the electors who have taken less and less part in the process.  Normal people have opted out of political activity and left it to a bunch of full-time careerist geeks.
To cookinglager, I have to explain that a democratic Euro state is not a realistic option. The history is different to that of the USA, which has one language  and one culture (although that is now at risk).
Jacquesarden is well informed. I did go to one Bilderberg meeting (on the advice of my officials that I should know what it was all about). I was never invited to another – which tells you something about both the Bilderbergers and me.
As johny rottenborough says, the USA did push for a US of E and financed political propaganda to that end. They, poor fools, thought that it would be in their interest.
As to Assegi… Oh dear, Oh dear. He quotes p. 499 of Nigel Lawson’s book The View from No 11. If he had read it properly he would have known that we did not enter the ERM in 1985, and he would have known that whilst I was supportive at that time of Nigel as Chancellor, saying that it should be looked at on economic grounds, I later expressed my concerns that it would be used by the EU for political purposes.
He might also have read Margaret Thatcher’s memoirs about her opposition to the ERM right up to the point where she had lost the support of the Cabinet, not long before the conspiracy to overthrow her – and why she gave in to Chancellor John Major in 1990.
Thank you, spoonbender, for pointing out some of that.
I can assure Gary 4 that I am still a card-carrying member of the Conservative Party and in the House of Lords I take the Conservative Whip, even if I do not always take too much notice of it.
Lastly, I can assure Fifty and Cynical that there is no such thing in English law as a “gay wedding”.
Marriage is a life-long union, to the exclusion of all others, between a man and a woman. A wedding is the service or ceremony to mark that union. There are civil partnerships and the making of those may be marked by a party, but they are not wedding parties.

The EU, due to the political idiocy and corruption of its undemocratic leaders, is now a net importer of food, no longer able to feed itself and with a decreasing range of over priced goods of little use to the rest of the world to sell with which to counter the net financial drain of endless imports.
