Hi,
I neither endorse nor refute the claims made in this compilation of articles, opinions, reports and views on the massacre at Waco and the details surrounding it.
Whatever the ‘story’ I consider it an undeniable failure of Governance and competence when ANY Government authority puts itself in a position where it finds itself massacring its own people whom it is funded and charged to protect!
I do NOT take the largely inadequate Liberal and weak line of there should be no death penalty as a death penalty is undeniably the duty of Government to administer to protect the inocent but NOT without a proper fully funded fair trial – Justice MUST be seen to be done.
I do NOT endorse the arming of largely incompetent Police in a Civilian/Civil routine role.
In Britain the police have shot and murdered many innocent individuals, as under British Justice an individual is innocent until PROVED Guilty and summary execution by armed police when a death penalty is denied the peoples in a Court CAN ONLY be seen as an act of unwarranted murder!
I have proved unable to identify a single solitary Police Murder where the life of a single uninvolved individual has been saved in Britain – You will note on this blog that I have identified the murder by armed police of numerous innocent citizens!
Make of the Waco compilation what you will – I claim it to be NOTHING MORE THAN a compilation.

Mr. Thibodeau talked about his book, A Place Called Waco: A Survivor’s Story, written with Leon Whiteson and published by Public Affairs. He focused on his experience as one of only nine survivors of the fire on April 19, 1993, after the attack on the Branch Davidian compound by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). After his prepared remarks he answered questions from members of the audience. Scenes of his book signing were also shown.

The day before launching “Operation Trojan Horse,” the ATF reserved
rooms in local hotels for over a hundred agents and personnel. They also
alerted the national and local media to be ready for a big story that was
about to break. A highly inflammatory article attacking Koresh as a child
abuser appeared in the Waco Tribune-Herald the morning of the raid. It
wasn’t difficult to see a massive operation was underway, aimed at
Mount Carmel.

Another major role for FBI Headquarters’ personnel included contacting
various U.S. military components regarding the transportation of agent
and support personnel, and obtaining data about the effective range of
assorted weapons. The FBI also sought technical information about
certain military vehicles. According to DD Clarke, there was concern
and uncertainty as to the types of weapons inside the compound,
particularly in view of the reported presence of .50 caliber rifles
capable of penetrating any tactical vehicle in the FBI’s inventory.
As a result of these concerns, the FBI requested Bradley fighting
vehicles from the U.S. Army. Nine of these — without barrels, pursuant
to an agreement between the FBI and the Army to avoid posse comitatus
prohibitions — were ultimately provided.
